Application Procedure

Applicants must submit certified true copies of relevant documents along with the application form. We advise students to bring the originals to our offices as well.

The school to which you apply will determine the recognition of your academic background and the level at which you qualify to enter.

If your application is successful, you will receive a conditional or confirmation offer letter. This letter can be used for a long-stay student residence visa.

You need to complete the registration process, pay the first installment of fees, and send this information to the school. The school will then provide details on how to apply for accommodation.

Indian students must schedule an appointment with the French embassy for a visa interview and to verify financial documents along with other visa-related documents at the Embassy of France or the consulates in Mumbai.

Applicants must complete the online procedure. The French Embassy typically processes and approves applications within 48 hours. After visa approval, students can book their tickets.

  3. Higher Education

Primary Education:

In France, children start school at a very early age, typically at 3 years old. They spend 3 years in kindergarten. Education in France is compulsory until the age of 16.

Secondary Education:

Secondary education in France is divided into two stages: BEPC and Baccalaureate. The BEPC (Brevet des Collèges) is equivalent to the 10th grade in India and covers education for students aged 11 to 15 years.

Higher Education:

Higher education for students aged 15 to 18 culminates in a Diploma known as the Baccalaureate, which is similar to the 12th grade in India. The Baccalaureate is also known as the Lycée diploma.

Universities:

In France, Indian students can attend 90 public universities across the country. These universities offer a wide range of academic disciplines, including Sciences (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology), Technology (Computer Science, Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering), Literature, Languages, Arts, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, Management, Health, Sports, and more.

Grande Ecoles:

Grande Ecoles are prestigious French institutions established in the early 19th century alongside the university system. They are highly selective and provide top-quality education. There are over 300 Grande Ecoles in France, each specializing in different fields. Although the fees can be higher, students benefit from smaller class sizes, better support systems, and excellent networks with alumni and international partners. These institutions can be public or private.
