Part-Time Work Opportunities:
International students in Ireland who are pursuing a full-time course of at least one year can work part-time, up to 20 hours per week, or full-time during semester breaks while studying abroad.

Full-Time Work Opportunities:
Students who complete a qualification such as a Bachelor’s (Three or Four Years), Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, or MBA from a Higher Educational Institution in Ireland (approved by an Irish Awarding Body; overseas accreditations are not accepted) can stay in the country for up to 12 months to search for employment. For those with an Ordinary Bachelor’s Degree (Three years full-time), the stay-back period is 6 months. During this time, students can apply for a Green Card or Work Permit. This period starts from the day the student receives their exam results.

Some students prefer staying with host families, which is an excellent option for those leaving home for the first time. This helps them integrate into the local community and learn about Irish culture. Typically, students staying with host families are provided with a room and morning and evening meals.

Study in Ireland Scholarships

There are numerous scholarships available for international students who wish to study in Ireland, helping to reduce their financial burden. These scholarships are provided by the Government of Ireland, Irish Higher Education Institutions, and other organizations. Each scholarship has its own specific eligibility criteria and is awarded at the discretion of the respective organization.

  1. Students can attend secondary school in Ireland and complete the Leaving Certificate Examination along with Irish students. Many students who take this route also enroll in English language tuition.
  2. Alternatively, students can appear for recognized public examinations in their home country. This is the more common route for Indian students. It is crucial for applicants to ensure their educational qualifications meet entry requirements. Excellent results are essential for a realistic chance of admission. For example, 3 good A-Level passes (grades A/B) are typically required for medicine programs, while most degree programs require a minimum of 3 grades of ‘C’ or equivalent. It’s important to confirm the acceptability of qualifications with the relevant institution.

Students applying for undergraduate programs in Ireland can apply directly to the institutions or through the Central Applications Office.

  • Attested copies of Std X, XII, etc. mark sheets
  • 2 academic letters of reference from recent professors
